The Good Food Festival, a traditional treat for lovers of the excellent Croatian cuisine, will be held in Dubrovnik from October 18 to 21, 2018. Now in its fifth year, the event has grown into one of Dubrovnik’s most popular tourist offerings in the autumn season, bringing together locals and visitors for a four-day gastronomic adventure that delights even the most selective palates. Organized by the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, the festival will once again host a varied range of workshops, gourmet programs and other events to introduce visitors to local delicacies, traditional and modern recipes, and a rich selection of the finest local wines. The Dubrovnik Table, the highlight of the event, will be set up along the entire length of Stradun, the main street in the Old Town, and offer a versatile selection of culinary delights and sweets prepared by the top chefs of the Dubrovnik hotels and restaurants, and the best local bakers and confectioners. Visitors will also be able to sample a selection of award-winning wines produced by the local winemakers.
This year’s edition of the Goof Food Festival will provide visitors with the opportunity to learn about the latest trends in health food, food styling and food photography, and the ways to prepare various traditional Croatian dishes, Dubrovnik sweets, and delicious cocktails at various workshops. Visitors will also get to enjoy an excellent gourmet program at the traditional Dinner with a Famous Chef, accompanied by a music program. Additionally, the festival will feature educational programs for children and a number of interesting presentations, including one that will acquaint visitors with the Dalmatian Brunch. The Healthy Food and Homemade Goods fair will be set up at the Pile Gate, the western entrance to the Old Town, and present a variety of locally grown organic foods and traditional specialties, as well as homemade jams, honey, cheese, ham, olive oil, wine, liqueurs and other local products.
Dubrovnik restaurants will offer special menus for the duration of the festival and visitors will get a chance to take the gastro tour “Sights & Bites,” which takes them on a walk through the enchanting streets of the Old Town and provides them with insights into Dubrovnik’s history and culture between delicious meals at the top local restaurants.
