A Christmas market selling handicrafts, souvenirs, food and drink has been set up in the atrium of the Convent of St. Claire for the Advent season to offer antique Christmas decorations, glasswork, ceramics, embroidery, toys, artwork and a taste of traditional Dubrovnik delicacies, including roasted candied almonds, deep-fried biscuits, sweet bread sticks, doughnuts, quince cheese, and sugar frosted orange peels. Christmas Eve in the Old Town is a special event, with hundreds of locals and visitors enjoying live music and celebrating.
New Year’s Eve in Dubrovnik
New Year’s festivities bring several days of live music to the city streets, culminating with a series of live performances on Stradun, the main the street in the Old Town, on December 31, starting with traditional music in the morning to see the old year off. To give 2016 a proper welcome, the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra will perform a series of classical compositions on Stradun on January 1.
